Hi, I'm Lauren.

I am a PhD candidate at Flinders University, researching ways to help children and families after natural disasters.

I was a primary school teacher in South Australia for 16 years. While I loved teaching, I was ready for a new challenge. I had the opportunity to go back to Flinders to do my Honours year in 2021 (while still working full time!) and was accepted to do a PhD at the end of the year. I have left school teaching, for now at least, and love being able to focus on my research and teaching pre-service teachers at Flinders as a casual academic.

When I'm not working on my research, I enjoy reading, especially historical fiction, drinking coffee, cooking, and watching sports, particularly Port Adelaide in the AFL and SANFL and the Adelaide Thunderbirds in Super Netball.

If you have a question or are interested in taking part in this research, please send me a message – I'd love to hear from you.
